Each year, Morrie’s partners with local organizations to ensure that food and school supplies are not barriers to education for the kids in our communities. In 2021, we partnered with Hunger Solutions, Hunger Task Force, Kids In Need Foundation and local schools. With your help, Morrie’s Auto Group collected 1,687 backpacks and $16,870 for school supplies and $2,332 food for students in our communities this year.
Hunger Solutions works to fight hunger in our community by partnering with local food banks and shelves to distribute food in our communities struck the hardest by food insecurity. Right now, 1 in 9 Minnesotans are food insecure. That’s nearly 500,000 Minnesotans who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
Kids in Need Foundation partners with teachers and students in under-resourced schools to provide the support needed for teachers to teach and learners to learn. Each year, they serve an estimated 5 million students, 205,000 teachers, and provide over $70 million in school supplies and educational products at no cost to schools or teachers.
In addition to the Kids in Need Foundation mentioned above, we are partnering with local schools in our Onalaska, West Salem, and West Bend communities to ensure that food and school supplies are not barriers to education for the children in our communities.
